records on the way

Hello!

We’ve got two records coming in the spring,

“Wacky Past Is Now” coming on Puzzle Pieces Records

“Poltergeist” being put out by Ripe Records.

4 new songs on each 7″, recorded over a weekend last November with Joe Mitra in Baltimore, MD. We are also going to be playing some shows in February in Brooklyn and DC, with plans of a week-long coming for late March. More on that, and our 3rd 7″ to come in the near future.

Welcome back to the mainland Mary and Rachel who returned yesterday from an extended vacation in Hawaii. Ben is still in Europe with Self Defense Family and will be back in a week or so. We are excited to all come back together, but that is one of the only exciting things about the winter ahead. This Drexciya compilation is pretty cool and Black Tambourine is getting back together for a couple shows. Anybody else been listening to this Evian Christ because this shit is great. The things that get us through the boredom of January.

Happy Martin Luther King Day! Read Gil Scott-Heron’s memoir “The Last Holiday” for a greater appreciation of what it took to make this day a national holiday. Not to be confused with the Queen Latifah movie of the same name, which probably accomplished similar successes I sadly remain ignorant of. She was so cool before Hollywood took all her talents for their own.

woah, we are doing this thing.

we are playing at a film screening for From the Back of the Room.  it is at an actual theater; high ceilings, a stage, seats, etc.  it will certainly be our first time playing in a setting like this.  it should be a fun time. drink lots of coffee/mountain dew, it starts late.  it makes me think i want to start playing shows in venue spaces which are foreign to me.  so far my list is: airports, prisons, car dealers, hospitals, and maybe on an airplane.  if you book in any of these spaces, get at me.
